The Jefferson Park Penguins nipped the SSB SSB Tar Heels 7 to 6 at the
ballpark in a hard fought contest.
Hunter Pence provided much of the offense. He slapped a one-base hit in the
2nd inning, doubled plating a run in the 3rd inning and blasted a two-run
home run (his 7th of the season) in the 7th inning. SSB made it exciting in
the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.
Brandon Webb(13-7) went 7 innings allowing 6 runs for the win. Peter Moylan
got the save, his 18th. Renyel Pinto(0-1) was the loser in relief.
'I just wanted to give my team a chance to win.' said Webb, 'I got burned on a
couple of pitches. But we won the game, and that's all that matters.'
